Grand Junction Economic Partnership

On the western flank of the Rocky Mountains lies Mesa County, Colorado, home of Grand Junction; a vibrant city that is quickly growing notoriety for its abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. Helping spread the word of this "New West" region, the Grand Junction Economic Partnership (GJEP) has been shaping the forward-looking direction of Grand Junction since 1984.

For those who've done the The Grand, the world class mountain bike trails need no introduction, but the region is also earning accolades from national publications including "Coolest Desert Towns", "Best Hunting and Fishing Towns", "Best Small Places for Business and Careers" and one of the "Sunniest Cities in the USA".

Colorado's Western Slope was recently featured in the June 2014 issue of US Airways magazine, showcasing not only the abundant recreational opportunities, but also the thriving wine country region of Colorado with more than 20 wineries that offer tasting rooms.

Shimano: Bolt-On Precision

For more than a century engineers have been trying to reinvent the bicycle drivetrain. Belt, shaft, clutch and countless other designs have all been researched and field-tested extensively, but to this day, there's nothing more efficient than a chain and cog-based drivetrain. If there were something more efficient, Shimano engineers would have already figured it out. After all, Shimano has been making bicycle components since 1921.

Bicycle component companies have come and they've gone, but there's always been one name consistent across every generation: Shimano. From the top-shelf XTR to the workhorse XT, SLX and Deore groupsets, every component on a bicycle wearing the Shimano name delivers unmatched quality, precision and durability, ensuring the ride is as effortlessly enjoyable as it can be.

Shimano will be in attendance at this year's Grand expo displaying the all-new 2015 XTR groupset including Di2 electric shifting, 1x11 configuration, redesigned disc brakes and carbon wheels. Epic Rides encourages everyone to stop by and check out the next generation of mountain bike componentry.

Grand Concert Headlined by Jamestown Revival

The warm sounds of a Fender Rhodes, the raw timbre of a steel guitar, the fat backbeat of a drum kit and the soulful voices of two adventuresome spirits; that's the experience Jamestown Revival will bring as the headlining act at the Grand Junction Off-Road Presented by U.S. Bank.

After their first appearance at the Whiskey Off-Road in April, Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance will perform again at The Grand after having toured the U.S. all summer with stops at Bonaroo Music Festival and the Hangout Music Fest. For those who haven't heard the sound of Jamestown Revival, think Creedence Clearwater Revival meets Willie Nelson meets Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's a rough and ready Western rock sound blended with Southern soul that goes perfect with some post-ride Sierra Nevada's.

Get more info on Jamestown Revival, see their performance on Conan O'Brien and get the beta on a full day of free live music and each of the three supporting bands at the Community Concert page.
