Wear a Costume, Pedal a Bike - Happy Halloween!

The only thing more fun than dressing up as Evel Knevil, a hockey player or a member of the opposite sex is getting in costume and riding a bike. Whether it's a local bike race or a pedal through the neighborhood on Halloween with friends; get in costume, jump on a bike and watch everyone smile, laugh and scream.

From all of us at Epic Rides, Happy Halloween!

Six Steps to 24-Hour Team Success

Unless you're a solo-masochist, the 15th Annual 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo presented by Tucson Medical Center is a full team effort. For those looking for advice on how to coerce their cronies into a long weekend of high desert hijinks, Epic Rides has put together six handy steps to building a 24 Hour team. And no, the six steps are not the number of bottles in a six-pack, although a six-pack definitely doesn't hurt with coercion.

Whatever you do, don't procrastinate. Registration is filling at record pace, so follow the six steps and get ready for a notable weekend among a bunch of like-minded party people mountain bikers.

AZSLD Permits for Pre-Rides

To all pre-riding the #24HOP course, please purchase an Arizona State Land recreational use permit. Required to ride all trails on all AZ State Lands, purchasing a permit further solidifies the mountain bike communities' relationship with the Arizona State Land Department. Permits are $15/year (families are $20/year), and a portion of the fees go toward education in Arizona's public school system. Fancy that.

In addition to accessing the trails at Willow Springs Ranch, the permit also provides access to thousands of acres of protected land including the popular Pima & Dynamite and Fantasy Island trail networks.

Note: Every registered #24HOP rider is included in the events permit during event weekend. Those not planning to pre-ride before event weekend do not need an individual recreational use permit.

See ya trailside,

TMC Celebrates 70 Years of Excellence

2014 marks the 15th anniversary of the #24HOP but more notably, it also marks the 70th anniversary of the Tucson Medical Center. What started as a small community nonprofit hospital in 1944 has since grown into one of the 300 largest hospitals in the country, playing a crucial role in the growth of greater Tucson and Southern Arizona.
