Epic Rides ...A good day on the bike

It's Tour Time!

Get out the camping gear (or hotel gear), stock up on libations, pack some warm clothes, load the bikes on the rack, grab your bros and broettes and get that road trip playlist going, its Tour Time! With a new and improved venue and a whole host of new singletrack on all three Tour of the White Mountains courses, it should come as no surprise that registration is now completely sold out.

Upon arrival to Pinetop-Lakeside on Friday, get an event packet containing a bunch of great swag including the Official Tour Poster designed by our creative cronies over at Cirrus Visual Communication. The blue diamond trail markers are an iconic symbol in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, participants will be whizzing by them all weekend long as they ride miles of glorious singletrack.

Off-Bike Activities in Pinetop-Lakeside

Whether coming to the Tour this weekend to ride or just attending for moral support, there are numerous off-bike activities in Pinetop-Lakeside this weekend. Here are just a few of the activities all are encouraged to partake in.

Bring a Fishin' Pole - Pinetop-Lakeside is a fisherman's paradise with rainbow, brown and brook trout found across 50 alpine lakes and 800 miles of streams.
Get in a Round of Golf - With three private courses and six public courses, the Pinetop-Lakeside area is one of the most popular golfing spots in Arizona.
Stroll Woodland Lake Park - This 580-acre park boasts tennis and volleyball courts as well as a big playground perfect for the little ones. There's also great bird watching!
8th Annual Woodland Wildlife Festival - Free event featuring lots of wildlife, kids activities, and programs including archery ranges and nature hikes. For more information, visit www.wmnature.org.

Old Pueblo Registration Filling Fast

Can you believe it? October 1 has already flown past us like an overzealous Argentinean downhiller, which means registration for the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo has already been open for two days. For those who know better, this is not an event to slack on; it fills faster than any other Epic Rides event - sorry, all men's solo spots are now full and less than 15 female solo spots remain.

In summary - Do. Not. Wait.

Discover the Night with NiteRider

Fall is here and daylight is waning. If your light system is as dim as these people, then its time to discover the night and upgrade to a NiteRider lighting system. The new Pro 2200 Dual Beam Race and Pro 1200 Race lights are ideal for everything from weeknight rides to 24-hour races, enabling riders to go as long as 10 hours without recharging the battery - a perfect setup for the soloist.

The extremely popular Lumina series is great for commuting, racing or just casual rides, the new Lumina Flare features 650 powerful lumens of light plus a built-in 1-watt taillight on the back of the body, a genius innovation never before seen with helmet lights. For more details on all the great new NiteRider gear, check out this Interbike video with NiteRiders Tommy Bryant.

What's in an Old Pueblo Team Name?

What do Feral Cow Tippers, Breaking Wind and Embrace the Suck all have in common? They're creative team names from the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo Presented by Tucson Medical Center.

We love to laugh, so when assembling your team, think of some creative names. All we ask is that you keep it somewhat appropriate and presentable. After all, we might have to call your name on the podium!
