Epic Rides ...A good day on the bike

Thank You Grand Junction!

As they say, "you never get a second chance to make a first impression", and without question the City of Grand Junction, event volunteers and the entire community of Grand Junction made an enormously huge impression during event weekend - Grand Junction loves mountain bikers!

Building the inaugural Grand Junction Off-Road Presented by U.S. Bank was a major undertaking, and Epic Rides couldn't have done it without many enthusiastic sponsors, an extremely supportive city, county and BLM, and a community of business owners, residents and volunteers willing to put their best foot forward for a fabulous event weekend. Thank you.

We also want to thank every rider who participated in The Grand. This was a very special Epic Rides event; the physically demanding course that rewarded everyone with world-class trails, awe striking scenery and a strong sense of accomplishment was uncharted territory for most. Everyone should be proud of their achievement.

We respectfully request everyone to share their experience with friends, family and riding buddies in support of a bigger more celebratory 2014 Grand!

Grand Photos & Results

There was no shortage of breathtaking views last weekend, but chances are riders were either focused on riding or preoccupied with partying. No worries. Check out the Grand Junction Off-Road Results and Photos page to re-live all the great memories.

With respect to appeals, all riders have until Sunday, Sept. 8th to file. Simply click here to file an appeal. All appeals will be reviewed thoroughly. Please include the following details: number plate, category, finishing time and specifically what the appeal is about. Results posted after the appeal period are final and binding, at least until the zombie apocalypse arrives.

Tour Pre-Ride - This Weekend

The 18th annual Tour of the White Mountains is fast approaching. Featuring an improved venue in Pinetop-Lakeside and new trails with more singletrack than ever before, this year's Tour is a brand new experience.

Whether you've registered for the 50, 30 or 9-mile singletrack route, or the new 30-mile forest road fun ride, get better acquainted with them all by attending the Unofficial Tour Pre-Ride this weekend, Sept. 6-8.

Remember that that is an unofficial event, and it's the riders' responsibility to be self-sufficient; download the course maps, bring health insurance, a few friends and a sense of adventure.

Pre-rider beware: When it rains in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, the hero-dirt turns to clay, the clay destroys bikes, and the bikes destroy trails. Please watch the forecast so as to avoid having to great of an impact on the local tread.

Trail User Safety

TRACKS, THE trail advocacy organization in Pinetop-Lakeside, has recently completed a safety marker system that includes a marker every quarter mile on 80-percent of the 200+ miles in the White Mountains Trail System. This innovative life-saving system helps emergency responders quickly locate those who contact 911 after they've become lost on the trail.

Through strong design + inspire, the folks at Cirrus Visual Communication integrated the White Mountains trail marking system into this year's Tour identity. Yep, they're that cool.
