2013 GRAND JUNCTION OFF-ROAD PRESENTED BY US BANK NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
Join In On the Excitment and Free Community Concert Happening Labor Day Weekend
(Tucson, Ariz.) August 19, 2013 - Be a part of history by volunteering for the Inaugural Grand Junction Off-Road mountain bike event and free community concert, headlined by Cracker. Enjoy the opportunity to get in on the excitement as mountain bikers from around the country converge upon Grand Junction August 30 - September 1, 2013 for three days of events and #GrandShenanigans. In addition to the Amateur and Pro mountain bike events, featuring a $20,000 pro cash purse, the DT Swiss Event Hub located on Main Street will feature a well-appointed bike and wellness expo hosted by the Grand Junction Economic Partnership.
Epic Rides needs your help! Volunteers make event weekend hum, while taking part in the event from a safe distance. Areas of opportunity to volunteer include:
Packet Pickup & Registration: Friday - Sunday, volunteers will help riders check in to the event and distribute goodie bags and number plates. This is a great opportunity to interact with many of the visitors to Grand Junction.
Start/Finish Line Support: Friday - Sunday, volunteers helping with start/finish line related activities will provide assistance with anything from staging riders before the start to distributing custom wine glass finisher awards to each finisher as they complete their event.
Course Marshal & Aid Station Support: Familiar with the local trail system and prefer to spend your day in nature? Get up close and personal with riders as they attempt to conquer the 15, 30 or 40 Grand courses (1 Grand = 1 mile). Volunteering at aid stations and on the course, assuring riders safely navigate key intersections and challenging sections is a unique experience. Keep riders safe and informed as a Course Marshall or Aid Station volunteer.
All volunteers that contribute 5 hours or more of their time to the event will receive a special designed Volunteer T-shirt and Goodie Bag.
