Epic Rides ...A good day on the bike

An Event for the Ladies

According to the Census, there are nearly four million more women than men in the United States. Epic Rides knows there are thousands of ladies out there who love to ride but have never participated in a mountain bike event before.

The inaugural Grand Junction Off-Road presented by U.S. Bank this Labor Day weekend, Aug. 30 - Sept. 1, is a perfect opportunity for both new and experienced female riders to challenge both themselves and their friends with three different distance options of 15, 30 and 40 miles.

In addition to enjoying event features like a women's-only lounge, female-specific manufacturers in the expo area and a Finisher's stemless wine glass to commemorate their achievement, ladies can also watch the Pro Women's field compete for their share of a $20K prize purse- a generous payout equal to the Pro Men. We want to see lots of ladies in Grand Junction this Labor Day weekend.

Lend us a hand, call up your girlfriends and help get the word out!

Cirrus Visual Communication

The Official Grand Event Jersey Unveiled

Boasting an international client base for full-service commercial printing, graphic design and marketing, Cirrus Visual Communication in Tucson has been an invaluable partner of Epic Rides for more than a decade. Grand Junction Off-Road Riding Jersey Cirrus Visual took a swing for the fences designing the very first Grand Junction Off-Road event jersey and knocked the ball out of the park.

Baseball is huge in Grand Junction thanks to the local Rockies Minor League team, so Cirrus Visual incorporated vertical pinstripes as a nod of the cap to America's favorite pastime. Add in The Grand logo with a rich color palate of gold, maroon and beige resembling the gorgeous natural landscapes riders will witness along The Grand course, and you've got a timeless keepsake of this inaugural event.

These high-quality Primal Wear jerseys are available in sport cut and freeride for $78 and are sure to sell quickly. In fact, the Whiskey Off-Road jerseys were all sold before event weekend. Be safe, order yours today.

Scott Sports

Scott Spark 29er - An Ideal Rig for The Grand

Wondering what will be the ideal ride for The Grand course? Considering the terrain in Grand Junction is similar to Prescott with the occasional technical feature to keep everyone honest, a full-suspension 29er is a wise choice. Among the wisest choices would be the Scott Spark 29er, a light, nimble and comfortable bike that Geoff Kabush piloted to win both the 2012 and 2013 Whiskey Off-Road.

Scott Sports will be in attendance at The Grand expo with a full line of mountain bikes for you to ride. Be sure to visit Scott so you can saddle up with a demo bike and explore The Grand course. But be careful, the Spark 29er rides so nice you might just end up going home with one!

Featured Pro Athlete -
Amy Beisel

Colorado-native Amy Beisel only started racing in 2009, but she wasted no time getting fast, turning Pro in 2012. Beisel is coached by World XC Champion Alison Dunlap and has already rung up a couple victories in the 2012 MSC XC Series and the 2012 Alpine Odyssey. Beisel races for Griggs Orthopedics, and we're excited to have her in attendance at The Grand.

2,745 Miles from
Canada to Mexico

As you read this there are mountain bikers on a journey; a journey of 2,745 miles from Banff, Canada to the Mexican border riding along the Continental Divide. With more than 200,000 vertical feet of climbing, the Tour Divide might just be the most demanding bike race in the world, so our best wishes go out to all the riders endeavoring upon the adventure of a lifetime, and their families. Safe travels!
