Unofficial Grand Junction Pre-Ride - Are You In?

Ladies and Gents, the Unofficial Grand Junction Pre-Ride is scheduled for this weekend, May 18th and 19th. What's so "Unofficial" you ask? Well, pretty much the entire thing. This bring your own insurance and sense of humor weekend is intended to provide all interested in riding the Inaugural Grand Junction Off-Road with an opportunity to get acquainted with the Grand Junction community while feeling out the Off-Road course and other area trails.

By encouraging all to pre-ride on the same weekend it assures more people are on the trail (and in the bars)...more people means greater safety, more social, and more fun!

Pre-ride resources can be found here:

Grand Junction ... Eat, Drink and Ride

Grand Junction, CO isn't just about mountain biking. Many will be surprised to find out it's also the home of Colorado Mesa University (w/ a top ranked Cycling program), Colorado's Wine Country and home to nearly 60K people in Grand Junction proper.

Known as the "Big Easy" among the region's population for its laid back demeanor and accessibility to more than most of Colorado's small but close by mountain town's offer, downtown Grand Junction boasts a huge selection of localized restaurants, coffee shops, book stores, bars and a regional airport.

While visiting Grand Junction, we encourage you to reward your pre-riding efforts with a visit to one of the many restaurants on Main St. From authentic French and Italian to Nepalese food, whatever the destination, be sure to compliment your dish with a locally sourced bottle of vino.

Learn more about the Downtown retail, restaurants and kids activities.

Featured Trail - Butterknife Video

Folks, without riding it yourself, it's hard to explain how amazing the trails that make up the Grand Junction Off-Road presented by U.S. Bank truly are. However, thanks to "Cycling...A guide to Road & Mountain Biking in Mesa County, CO" and local rider Rob Parsons, we can lean on their street cred and film savvy to lend a hand.

Per the 2013 guide, Butterknife Trail, located in the famous Lunch Loops trail system, is listed as the 2nd of 7 standout trails within Grand Junctions deep quiver of riding opportunities. Pickup your free copy at Main St. Bagels or the Laughing Dog Coffee House when you're in town.

For those adept (or is it foolish?) enough to commit to the 30 or 40 Grand routes, Butterknife will be a signature trail among their event experience. Enjoy this ten minute trail preview compliments of Rob Parsons and his 'Wednesday Riders' friends.
