Yule Log 101: In the United States and Canada (eh), the "Yule log" has become a modern tradition in the form of a TV screen in one's home showing video of an actual Yule Log burning in a real fireplace.
The ol' Yule log DVD on TV is a very popular trend; it began on a whim in '66 by Fred Thrower, former TV programming director for WPIX in New York City. Fred wanted to offer a Yule Log to everyone in New York City who had no fireplace.
Now, the TV Yule log has become tradition, offered for several hours each year as a video greeting card to viewers, and is syndicated across the U.S.

Final Week Before Processing Fee Increase
This Saturday marks the first processing fee increase for the '09 event. All registrations postmarked after Saturday, December 20th will require an additional $10 per participant (after January 17th it'll be an additional $20/participant).
By registering early you not only save a few dollars but also get more stuff…to be clear…pay less, get more!
Early registrants will receive an event T-shirt & water bottle in addition to the goodie bag and event poster (which everyone gets). Not to mention, this year's event is on record pace to reach our rider limit. Register soon strictly to make sure you are able to get into the event at all.
