Hosted by the City of Grand Junction, and with great cooperation from the Grand Junction Bureau of Land Management Field Office, U.S. Bank presents the 3rd Annual Grand Junction Off-Road endurance mountain bike event and community concert, scheduled for May 29-31, 2015.
Featuring the world class Lunch Loops trail system, the Grand's 15, 30 & 40 mile courses start and finish on Main St. in downtown Grand Junction, and tour participants over varied terrain while traversing the Tabeguache trail system (pronounced Tab-uh-Watch) to the distant reaches of the Magellan loop.
As riders return to the welcoming and unique environment of Grand Junction's meandering Main Street, the backcountry.com Bike and Gear Expo and 3-day long festival offers a welcomed feeling of reward and personal gratification through individual finisher awards, great surrounds, libations and noteworthy culinary indulgences.
Whether riding for the custom wine country inspired all-finishers stemless wine glass, the locally sourced, lazer etched, wine bottles for all top five in both the 30 and 40 Grand amateur events, or the $30,000 Pro Cash purse (a rare equal payout to male/female categories), each participant is sure to find great achievement by finishing either the 15, 30 or 40 Grand course (1 Grand = 1 mile).
All are invited to attend, including the non-riding, and enjoy Grand Junctions thriving outdoor enthusiast opportunities coupled with progressive American Main Street arts and retail. Kids play areas, sunrise yoga, road rides in the National monument, a swim in the Colorado River, imbibing locally sourced wines, and trail systems beyond the Grand course offer an endless assortment of world class riding for all ages and abilities. All are welcome for this annual 3-day event and are sure to enjoy a notable experience in Grand Junction, CO.
Event related ingredients making up the backcountry.com Bike and Gear Expo consist of the Grand start/finish line, a well appointed vendor and tech expo, side shows, shennanigans, a kids fun ride, free live music and a unique opportunity to be submerged in the mountain bike industry's vibe while enjoying a cool mesa evening in good company - bring a chair, steady vibes and good friends, then relax at the concert as the bands belt out tunes, the podiums are announced and the sun sets on Mesa County’s most impressive geological features.
Fundraising: A portion of the funds raised through the Grand Junction Off-Road will benefit the Community Food Bank of Grand Junction. In addition to the cash donation made at time of registration, Epic Rides respectfully requests all participants and concert attendees bring two canned goods for donation at packet pickup located in the hub.
